As vantagens da técnica de Ender sobre outros métodos de tratamento de fraturas transtrocanterianas têm sido enfatizada por vários autores. A fratura geralmente é estabilizada com 3 a 5 pinos. Desde o pós-operatório imediato, a reabilitação precoce é incentivada. A técnica descrita tem sido utilizada para pacientes com fraturas estáveis, e clinicamente debilitados, permitindo uma osteossíntese rápida e pouco traumática.
