Técnica de alavancagem para tratamento cirúrgico da fratura supracondiliana do úmero em crianças

Objetivo: demonstrar os resultados de uma técnica alternativa de fixação de fraturas supracondilianas de úmero em crianças (Gartland III) que não puderam ser tratadas nas primeiras horas após o trauma. Métodos: estudo prospectivo de 33 pacientes submetidos à redução da fratura pela técnica de alavancagem através de pino cruzando o foco de fratura e fixação percutânea com fios de Kirschner. O seguimento mínimo foi de 1O semanas e o máximo de 18 semanas. Resultados: em todos os pacientes avaliados obteve-se consolidação em alinhamento adequado com resultado funcional satisfatório em até 18 semanas. Um paciente apresentou infecção superficial no trajeto dos pinos de fixação e três outros apre sentaram lesão nervosa, duas em conseqüência do trauma e uma iatrogênica. Conclusão: esta técnica mostrou-se efetiva no tratamento dessas fraturas nos pacientes estudados, sendo, portanto, uma alternativa no tratamento dessa lesão.
