The peripheral nerve block in foot and ankle surgery is a injected the anesthesic agem in a tibial nerve, saphenous nerve, superficial peroneal nerve, deep peroneal nerve and sural nerve. The dorsal and plantar sensory nerves are anesthetized and the surgery procedures may be performed. The peripheral nerve block is not difficult, the prolonged anesthesia and analgesia that it provides may significantly diminish postoperative pain and the ucilization of ambulatory surgery with decreasing surgical expenses.
