Abstract

The aneurysmal bone cyst (AOC) is a benign, non-neoplastic, reactive, expansive and vascularized pseudotumor lesion, frequently
observed in children and adolescents under 20 years of age. They commonly occur in the femur and tibia and their diagnosis begins with the demonstration on radiography of an expansive, lytic and eccentric lesion with bone septations1. Regarding clinical presentation, the patient may present with pain and local edema and the diagnosis will be confirmed with biopsy and anatomopathological study2.

We report a pediatric patient (9 years old) who was diagnosed with AOC in the right distal tibia and aggressive curettage was performed, with cauterization and bone graft from the iliac crest, as well as its evolution.
